letter over a Southern listserve I subscribe to, and was so moved by its
power, I contacted the writer immediately for permission to post it here.

Dear Confederate Brothers and Sisters, As the lies, distortions and obfuscations by the national broadcast and print media continue unabated, the reality of this situation has to be acknowledged. They KNOW the truth just as we do--THEY DON'T CARE. We aren't dealing with people who are simply misinformed and who will benefit from the knowledge we share. THEY DON'T CARE. NOT NOW, NOT EVER. We must stop using such phrases as 'biased reporting' and 'make no effort to report the truth.' Of course their reporting is biased--they are lying. Naturally, no effort is made to report the truth -- THE TRUTH DOES NOT MATTER TO THEM. They lie for any number of reasons, primarily because the truth does not suit the AGENDA. The point is: THEY LIE. No matter how much truth and facts are sent their way--IT DOES NOT MATTER. THEY LIE. PERIOD. They are not going to stop lying just because we point out their errors and try to enlighten them with facts. THEY WILL DO ANYTHING, SAY ANYTHING, LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL TO PROMOTE THE LEFTIST AGENDA. The other reality we must acknowledge is that our resources are finite. Our time, money and energy are not boundless. We MUST find MORE EFFECTIVE ways to combat the rabid mad-dog media machine soon. The continuation of our culture depends on us using our God-given Southern wits and determining NOW how to out-maneuver and out-wit the amoral trash we're up against. We can inundate leftist hate-mongers with truth and fact till the end of time and IT WILL NOT MATTER. Instead of using our precious resources in constant combat with these demons, maybe we should begin to concentrate on getting OUR message to people who are held hostage by the media. There are thousands upon thousands of pro-South, pro-Constitution sympathisers all over this country. And right now, with the exception of the Edgefield Journal and a few others, the only information 90% of them have access to is the garbage and blatant lies being fed them through their leftist-owned newspapers, periodicals and networks. I don't suggest that we quit answering their slanderous assaults. I do suggest that we not waste our time attempting to educate them. THEY ALREADY KNOW THE TRUTH. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE TRUTH. When we write to them, simply say that we know they're lying and we know WHY they're lying and tell them we don't intend to take it anymore. Don't tell them what we're going to do, who we'll contact, etc. Let it be a surprise when the editor of the newspaper hears from the county commissioners or city council or mayor and is told they've been inundated with phone calls, emails, etc. It's time to walk the talk folks. Either we find a way to combat their propaganda efforts and get our message out to people in small towns and rural areas or we're going to lose our momentum and, eventually, this war. In addition to the Confederate Alliance's 'Summit' meeting, which is vital to our success, several of us are looking into the possibility of joining forces with an existing small newspaper and welcome any and all suggestions. If any of y'all want to join the effort, please do. God willing, with these efforts and more, we can begin to reach the folks who are desperately looking for information and leadership. Lastly, while each of us is concerned with 'our own back yards' we also have to recognise the fact that the assault is being waged AGAINST ALL OF US. When they take down a flag pole at Stone Mountain, they've taken down OUR flag pole. When they fire a history teacher for using our beloved banner as a teaching aid, he becomes a symbol of ALL OF US. When a disc jockey in Biloxi is allowed to steal and deface public property without sanction, he has defaced and stolen OUR symbol. So, we'll continue to wage war in our own states, while understanding that when they come after South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, THEY'RE COMING AFTER ALL OF US. That fact alone makes the success of our Alliance even more important as an organisational tool to provide coordination among the many groups whose mission is to guarantee liberty and freedom for the Southern and like-minded people.
