| I found an interesting concept at CSA
News under "Special Projects." The project is called Belles of
the South -- a kind of hoopskirted SWAT team to do southern-style "dynamic
entries" at city council, county commission, and school board meetings,
even state capitols, in defense of our heritage and for advancing our move
toward independence.
The idea has inspired me. I proudly announce to you the first chapter (Florida) of SWSH -- Southern Women for Southern Heritage. There's only two members so far -- me and my sister -- but we have big plans. SWSH, by the way, is pronounced "swish" -- the sound made by crinolines and hoopskirts when women wearing them ... sashay. The naming is sort of tongue-in-cheek, and some of our activities will be, too. But underneath, we're dead serious about preserving our culture. Right now, we are in the planning stage. We hope to soon begin identify ladies in Florida, especially our two-county area, who will join and help with our struggle. Among the options we are considering for our first project -- flag demonstrations in Pensacola. That is the first symbol of our heritage to come under attack in Northwest Florida -- though it surely won't be the last. |
