October
2000.....
...
If you keep up with
proSouthern issues at all, you're bound to have heard about the two recent
assaults on our movement to protect our honorable heritage and get out
from under the thumb of the federal leviathan.
The infamous Socialist
Pecunious Lawlessness Center (aka the Southern Poverty Law Center -- but
it's hard to keep a straight face when you say that, idinnit?) issued a
so-called "intelligence report" claiming that the League of the South in
particular, and the whole Southern movement in general, is a "racist hate
group."
Well, you know
what Bugs Bunny says. (Click Bugs to hear it.)
Many people have
already begun refuting the mistakes, distortions and downright lies packed
in these evil documents. We applaud the League of the South for standing
up to these glorifiers of the socialist, one-world vision and encourage
Southerners everywhere to repudiate these liars and their false witness.
The story also looks
at the sordid tale of corporate giants banding together to economically
oppress an American small businessman -- barbecue genius Maurice Bessinger
-- on the basis of his political and religious beliefs.
Bugs got it right
again. Click him and hear it for yourself!
And the battle has
been joined from one end of Dixie to the other. See The
Empire Strikes Back for our thoughts on these egregious assaults
on Dixie.

Surfers who've visited
180
Degrees True South before will notice our new format. We're in
the middle of our "remodeling" and hope to have it completed before the
end of October. Page One now has hyperlink buttons to
take you to each section of our e-zine. They are not activated yet,
but when they are, here's what you'll find in each department:
Inside One-Eighty
will
be an introduction and quick overview of each issue's contents..
Walkin' in
High Cotton will chronicle the strides made by the proSouthern
movement as time goes on. Look here for reports of rallies, conferences,
protests and demonstrations, and successful campaigns and initiatives.
With homage to the
brilliant General Nathan Bedford Forrest, Puttin' the Skeer On
is True South's "idea page" where we will present suggestions for
helping to further the cause.
Keep up with heritage
violations at the Anti-Southern Bigot Tree, where bigots
and their attacks will be compiled as comprehensively as possible.
If you know of a heritage violation, email us!
Backsass!
is a collection of my responses to the Yankees, carpetbaggers, scalawags
and assorted self-righteous hypocrites who are trying so hard to make us
ashamed and regretful of who we are. As Daffy Duck would say...
Well, click the Daffster to hear it yourself.
Southern-flavored
OpEds -- This month: What would the Founders of the united
States think about how our stewardship of the great experiment in democracy
they fought and died to give us? Steve Bilyeu's Op-Ed "We Failed
Them" makes it plain that we have not been worthy of their legacy
to us.
Remembering our brave
Confederate ancestors, the war they fought, and the heritage and culture
of the South is the focus of Old Times Not Forgotten.
You'll soon be able
to look In the Attic to find feature articles from past issues
of 180 Degrees True South.
There's nothing like
Southern humor, and that's why we had to include Now That's
Funny! in our remodeling job!
This monthly e-zine
is solely the work of one person. I do it as a small contribution
to the overall proSouthern movement. I hope the great Southrons out
there in the trenches, working hard to preserve our heritage or move Dixie
toward independence -- or both -- find something here to inform them, give
them a chuckle, inspire them to hope, encourage them to action.
Creating websites
-- and updating them every month -- can be fun. But it's also
just enough like work that I need a really good reason for doing it --
and Dixie is one of the best reasons I can think of.
Welcome, y'all, and
thanks for your patience.
